We are just days away from WEFTEC 2019, when more than 500 water leaders and innovators will present papers to our industry peers.

If you are going, we hope you have found our series of recommendations helpful in planning your itinerary. We have looked closely at emerging trends, innovation and what could be commercially significant.

The aim of this analysis is to give you insight into which presentations are noteworthy and significant. Today we announce our final set of recommendations.

Top 10 WEFTEC technology presentations

In terms of industry voices, the tech companies are hugely significant – they will be leading the industry onwards and potentially changing the way we all work. Among those presenting are some exciting innovators with cutting-edge solutions that could shape the future of the industry.

Our WEFTEC top 10 is listed below and includes:

Mike Allison, ADI Systems Inc (Evoqua), discussing how a brewing company is breaking convention by selecting anaerobic membrane bioreactor technology. Using an AnMBR application in brewing is still relatively unusual. This reference will help drive acceptance of AnMBR, albeit in certain niches.

Iris Porat, Kemira, who will present the company’s alternative disinfection product, based on a combination of formic acid and hydrogen peroxide. It is claimed the combination is more effective than chlorine and allows for less chemical use overall.

William Cunningham, Siemens Energy, who will share information on its PACT technology. This will be relevant to many utilities and offers a way to improve performance by means of a retro-fit.

As a market intelligence company specialising in water industry innovation, WEFTEC is a valuable source of information for us, too. All the details gathered will help us set the agenda for our own BlueTech Forum 2020, which takes place in Vancouver, Canada, on June 3 to 5. Follow us on Twitter @BlueTechR and Linkedin for updates.
